Farmers Market

Harvest Festival

The mission of the Co-op Farmers Market is to provide the opportunity for the Newark community to come together and enjoy shopping for a variety of locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and plants—harvested sustainably with natural and organic farming methods—baked goods, prepared foods, art, handicrafts, and other locally produced items.

The market goal is to:
♦ Provide an opportunity to "buy local" produce
♦ Support farm families, agriculture, and the environment
♦ Preserve the small town feel of the Newark community
♦ Help build a sense of community and raise awareness on environmental and health issues

The Co-op Farmers Market is sponsored by area farmers and the Newark Natural Foods Cooperative. The market meets every Sunday, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Co-op.  The season runs from the first Sunday in May to the Sunday before Thanksgiving of each year.

At the Co-op Farmers Market, you will be able to: talk about food with real farmers who grow it; see many friends and make new ones there—it is one of the most popular places in Newark on Sundays; and do any other needed grocery shopping in the Newark Natural Foods store. Local musicians play each week at 11 a.m. to add to the festivities. Stop by on Sunday and say hello!
