The March of Dimes, The New Castle County Buy From Your Neighbor Program, and The Delaware Department of Agriculture have teamed up to present the 3rd annual The Farmer and The Chef. The event is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, with proceeds going directly to the March of Dimes, scheduled for September 16, 2010 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.

The premise of the event is simple, pair local farmers with local chefs. While the event is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, we are also helping to create sustainable relationships between local farmers and chefs, while reinforcing the movement of eating healthy which is something the March of Dimes believes in and promotes to women who are considering pregnancy.

With Agriculture being such an important industry in Delaware, it is vital that we support our local farmers and for us to make sure that people know they can buy fresh, local produce right here - literally in their own back yard.

The event itself will feature local farmers who will provide their product to chefs who will then prepare tasting samples to all event attendees using this product.

Attendees will also be able to cast their vote for their favorite dish.  There will also be a silent auction with lots of great items!  If you would like to donate an item to the silent auction there is a link below to the auction donation form.

The March of Dimes wants to do its part in the community so...this year we are doing a collection of non-perishable food items for the Sunday Breakfast Mission.  Please bring your donations to The Farmer and The Chef on Sept. 16. Everyone benefits when we all work together!
