Socially Responsible Shopping

It's getting easier to be green! If you are interested in socially responsible buying and investing, you may want to check out this web-site:

http://www.greenamericatoday.org/

Co-op America is a non-profit organization that operates with these goals in mind:

From their website...

• Empowering individuals to make purchasing and investing choices that promote social justice and environmental sustainability;

• Demanding an end to corporate irresponsibility through collective economic action

• Promoting green and fair trade business principles while building the market for businesses adhering to these principles;

• Building sustainable communities in the US and abroad.

The website has a searchable data base that allows you to search the corporate responsibilty of businesses by name or industry. It also has information on campaigns against unresponsible employers and tons of information on living green. It also has a section called the Green Pages, where you can search through a directory of green-approved businesses. Icons on the Green Pages will lead you to an information page and then to the website of the company of your choice.

This site has a lot of valuable information and links to even more info.  If you're concerned about being green, I think you might find it worth a perusal.
